PLEASE READ FIRST

Knowledge-only. No prescribing authority.

This course builds understanding of psychiatric medications. It does not teach prescribing and does not confer any authority to prescribe. Prescribing is restricted to registered medical practitioners. It is a restricted course for those already working or training in mental health.

Open to

  • Psychology graduates (BS/BA Psychology or higher)
  • Psychology interns currently in training
  • Doctors and medical professionals (MBBS and above)

Not for

Not suitable for the general public. This course does not qualify or authorise anyone to prescribe, recommend or adjust medication. Admissions confirms eligibility before enrolment.

WHY THIS COURSE

Mental health professionals work alongside medication every day.

Psychologists, counsellors and trainees routinely support clients who are on psychiatric medication. Understanding how these medications work, and recognising their effects, makes you a more informed and effective collaborator. That is the understanding this course develops. It is not a prescribing course.

THE COMMON GAP

Working without understanding the medication side

  • No grounding in the basics

Many non-prescribing professionals have never learned how psychiatric medications actually work.

  • Difficulty collaborating

Without this foundation, working effectively alongside psychiatrists and supporting clients becomes harder.

  • Effects misread or missed

Side-effects and responses can be overlooked or misunderstood without proper grounding.

WHAT WE DO DIFFERENTLY

Principled, knowledge-level grounding

  • The principles, clearly taught

How major classes of psychiatric medication work, and their role in treatment: at a knowledge level.

  • Inside a real hospital

Learn within a working psychiatric setting, with the context of real clinical care, under supervision.

  • For more effective collaboration

Become a more informed professional who works effectively alongside prescribing clinicians.
