A full government-approved BS degree (Punjab University), delivered at SMCI inside a working psychiatric hospital: the only such provider in South Punjab.
View programmeFrom understanding CBT to applying it with competence
SMCI's CBT Practitioner track offers supervised cognitive behavioural therapy practice inside a psychiatric hospital for qualified psychology graduates and clinicians. This deeper, restricted track builds on the foundation level, with expert guidance throughout — for those ready to apply CBT within a real clinical context.

PLEASE READ FIRST
CBT Practitioner is not the open-entry course. It is the advanced level, intended for those already working or training in mental health, because it involves supervised clinical practice inside a real psychiatric hospital. If you are new to CBT, begin with CBT Foundation.

Not for
Not suitable for psychology students, interns, or the general public. If you are new to CBT, our open-entry CBT Foundation course is the appropriate starting point. Admissions confirms eligibility before enrolment.
WHY PRACTITIONER LEVEL
The foundation level builds awareness of CBT. The practitioner level is where you learn to apply it with a real person, under supervision: formulating, planning and working through a case with expert guidance at every stage.
You understand CBT models but have not applied them to a real case under supervision.
Few programmes offer guided, hands-on CBT practice in a genuine clinical setting.
Practitioners may grasp the theory but feel unsure formulating and delivering CBT safely and competently.
Advances beyond awareness into structured case formulation, planning and delivery.
Practise CBT under expert supervision in a real psychiatric setting.
Develop genuine, supervised CBT skill rather than textbook familiarity alone.
YOUR 4 WEEKS
A structured, supervised 4-week progression in applying CBT with genuine competence.
Moving from CBT theory into structured case formulation, under supervision.
Cognitive and behavioural techniques applied to common presentations, with expert guidance.
Applying CBT through supervised practice within the hospital setting.
Case review, reflective practice and a final supervised assessment.
Indicative structure; full outline confirmed at enrolment. All practice is supervised in-hospital.
YOUR CREDENTIAL
Issued by SMCI on completion of the supervised practitioner programme and its requirements.
The certificate's authority derives from supervised CBT practice inside a working psychiatric hospital.
Builds the applied CBT capability of those already qualified or in training in the field.
