PLEASE READ FIRST

This is the restricted, advanced CBT track.

CBT Practitioner is not the open-entry course. It is the advanced level, intended for those already working or training in mental health, because it involves supervised clinical practice inside a real psychiatric hospital. If you are new to CBT, begin with CBT Foundation.

Open to

  • Doctors and medical professionals (MBBS and above)
  • Psychology graduates (BS/BA Psychology or higher)

Not for

Not suitable for psychology students, interns, or the general public. If you are new to CBT, our open-entry CBT Foundation course is the appropriate starting point. Admissions confirms eligibility before enrolment.

WHY PRACTITIONER LEVEL

Understanding CBT and delivering CBT are fundamentally different competencies.

The foundation level builds awareness of CBT. The practitioner level is where you learn to apply it with a real person, under supervision: formulating, planning and working through a case with expert guidance at every stage.

THE COMMON GAP

Foundation-level knowledge only

  • Concepts without case work

You understand CBT models but have not applied them to a real case under supervision.

  • No supervised practice environment

Few programmes offer guided, hands-on CBT practice in a genuine clinical setting.

  • Uncertain application

Practitioners may grasp the theory but feel unsure formulating and delivering CBT safely and competently.

WHAT WE DO DIFFERENTLY

Supervised CBT practice

  • Builds on the foundation

Advances beyond awareness into structured case formulation, planning and delivery.

  • Inside a working hospital

Practise CBT under expert supervision in a real psychiatric setting.

  • Competence through guided practice

Develop genuine, supervised CBT skill rather than textbook familiarity alone.

CLARIFICATIONS

Questions, answered.

Foundation builds awareness of CBT and is open-entry. Practitioner is the restricted, advanced track where you learn to apply CBT through supervised clinical practice: intended for those already working in the field.

If you are new to CBT, Foundation is the appropriate starting point. Our admissions officer will confirm whether your background permits direct entry to the Practitioner track.

No. It is supervised CBT training. Whether you can practise independently depends on your underlying qualification and registration: this is professional development, not an independent-practice licence.
