Receptionist & Ward Assistant

Shakoor Mind Care Addiction & Psychiatric Hospital (S.M.A.P.H.) is looking for a responsible, compassionate, and organised Receptionist & Ward Assistant to be the first point of contact for patients and support the clinical and ward team.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and guide patients and their families professionally
• Take basic patient information and initial medical or psychological history before consultation
• Understand and document the patient's main concerns accurately and confidentially
• Schedule consultant appointments and manage follow-ups
• Coordinate with consultants, doctors, ward staff, patients, and families
• Maintain patient files and basic documentation
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient coordination
• Support doctors and ward staff during daily operations and ward rounds
• Observe patients and report important changes to the clinical team
• Help maintain a calm, organised, and patient-friendly environment

Requirements

• Graduate, preferably in Psychology, Health Sciences, Medical or Allied Health Sciences, or a related field
• Good communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Responsible, punctual, organised, and observant
• Compassionate and respectful toward psychiatric patients
• Able to maintain patient confidentiality and professional boundaries
• Comfortable working in a hospital or psychiatric setting
• Able to work shifts and as part of a team
• Previous hospital, reception, psychology, or clinical experience is a plus
